Thank you so much for your willingness to come alongside of TurnBack and help us purchase a new laptop computer. Our current mid-2010 MacBook Pro laptop is used constantly by Paul to create and maintain the TurnBack website, keep up on emails, manage the Turnback online recovery groups and create, edit and master the RENEWED! video series. With only 4 gigs of RAM and incredibly outdated video software, the current MacBook is not only not meeting our needs, but due to its continual rebooting whenever it wants to and its minimal operating memory, it greatly extends the amount of time it takes to do anything. For example, creating and editing a 15 minute RENEWED! video should take about 2-3 hours from the beginning of the editing process to the final product being done; but the last episode took approximately 12 hours total to upload, edit, master, save and upload to our social media sites and our website. When Paul is presenting at an event, he also uses the laptop to run the PowerPoint for his messages and with the MacBook randomly rebooting, you can see how this is a significant issue. When it was brought into the Apple store, the tech said that multiple hardware components are starting to fail (as he read the codes from the times the laptop reboots) and while the parts can be replaced, they are quite expensive and he said the laptop itself will start to fail as a whole at some point soon due to its age. It is not a wise use of our funds to put anything into this current laptop just to have it completely fail soon.

In looking at what we need in a laptop moving forward, we wanted to build one with enough memory, storage and upgradability so it will last us for many years to come. We decided to stay with a MacBook Pro due to the superior video-editing capabilities of the Macs and the ease of use and professional quality that Final Cut ProX (the Mac video editing software) brings to our video productions. With all of the new awareness for TurnBack that our RENEWED! videos have been producing and the importance of our new online recovery groups, having a computer that can handle high-demand video requirements is essential.
